Democracy has no space for a dictator. But that our beloved Modi ji seemed to have totally forgotten. In his ambition to conquer Bengal, he put his credibility and life of thousands of Indians at stake.
While in daytime he shamelessly led rallies in Bengal, which thousands of people attended, without masks or social distancing, at night he gave speeches on television asking people to adhere to social distancing norms. Wow .. height of hypocrisy.
There is no doubt that Govt's focus on elections, infact wining elections, was one of the key reasons why we are back in this pandemic. Why I say one of the reasons - because the public is also equally responsible - they let down their guard. However while the govt might be able to get away with it, its the people who are bearing the brunt of this.
Last few weeks have been terribly depressing, with people all over pleading for the basics - Oxygen, medicines, beds in hospital. BJP and the Centre could have spent the money on providing healthcare and prepping for the 2nd wave, instead they wasted it all on conducting rallies and buying politicians.
Today's Bengal's result gave me immense happiness. It is a tight slap for BJP and Modi. It is time they realize their first duty is towards the nation. That Mr Modi has been chosen to be a Prime Minster and not a Pradhan Pracharak.
Bengal has taken India's revenge.
