Ek Kahani

Hi!

We are having an Inter IBU competition at Hyderabad these days. Day before yesterday there was a Skit competition of which I was also a part of. The skit was ok, and we did well (came 3rd). Though, the topic was on the life of a Software Engineer, but somehow I felt that we could not connect to the audience.

Then I came up with an idea of writing a script of my own. I will be penning it down and putting it up on my blog, as and when I get ideas.

I request you all to be an active audience to my story.

So here it goes:

DISCLAIMER: Is kahani key paatr aur ghatnayain kalpnik hai. Any resemblance to those living or dead is purely coincidental.

This is about a guy called Umeed, he comes from a middle class family, quite a normal guy...nothing special about him, but he has dreams, and he dreams to make them happen.
He got selected in one of the prestigious institutions of India.
He is now in his fourth year..the year is about to end..and placement season is about to start. Umeed is in a hostel room having a chat with his frends about the upcoming placement season.

Umeed : Yaar, placement season is about to begin. I am feeling quite tense. The big companies are coming in the first week itself. What if I don’t get through (tension is in the air).

Friend A : Man, what are you talking about..these big companies pay dirt. I wont be even appearing for them. All I need is money..who cares about the Brand Name?

Umeed: Yaar, u don’t get it. Its not the money.. consider the resources that must be available there, the infra .These big companies employ the best of brains, imagine working with them, learning every moment of your life, improving yourself with every moment. I can feel the challenge.. its so thrilling.

Friend B : Stop uttering that non-sense. Be practical. You know what matters in the end. At the end of the day.. if I am earning more than you, I will be considered more successful. This is a materialistic world buddy.. Wake Up!

Umeed is not able to convince either of his friends of his point of view, nor he agrees with theirs.. Unable to find any way out, he goes to sleep.
